Midland Alliance Church Join the Georgian Shores Concert Band for our first major concert. The title Dawn is symbolic of both our beginning as a band and our concert title piece, David Gilliham’s At Morning’s First Light. Our first program will touch upon a wide variety of music for band. Major selections include Eric Whitacre’s October, Cait Nishimura’s Intrinsic Light, John Williams’ Midway March, and a suite from Leonard Bernstein’s popular West Side Story. |
Myth and Lore7:00 PM, March 25th, 2023
Midland Alliance Church Explore your favourite fantastical worlds through music with our homage to Myth and Lore. Our concert will include excerpts from Johann De Meij’s epic tribute to Middle Earth: his Lord of the Rings: Symphony One, selections from Stephen Sondheim’s classic fairy-tale musical Into the Woods, and Julie Giroux’s bombastic Swashbuckler which pits history’s greatest pirates against each other on a race across the high seas. As a part of this concert, we will also examine the enduring power of music in animated fantasy works touching upon the worlds of Disney and Studio Ghibli. |
